Prius PLUS Performance Kit Changes Car’s Image
By rptoyota on July 21, 2011
Read anything about the Toyota Prius anywhere, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find criticism about the vehicle. It’s the most marketable, fuel-efficient, and best-selling hybrid in the world today; earlier this year we saw our millionth Prius sold, and no other hybrid is even remotely close to that. In short, the Prius rocks. But if there was a criticism of the vehicle, it would have to be that it’s not necessarily the most beautiful car on the road, nor is it known for its pinpoint precise performance. Of course, if you were somebody that wanted to drive the most marketable, fuel-efficient, and best-selling hybrid in the world today while also having it look and drive super awesomely as well, you could just opt for the PLUS Performance package currently being offered with the 2011 iteration of the Prius. That would certainly solve that problem. Wellington Toyota Prius dealers could only describe this package as “game-changing,” offering up a menagerie of accessories that not only make the car look better and drive better, but do so while maintain the vehicle’s rock star efficiency. For starters, we’ve got a seven-piece ground effects kit, which is what gives a PLUS Prius its considerably edgier looks. Included are rear and front bumper spoilers, new side skirts, and a sharp rear diffuser. The overall effect is one of a much sportier car, but the kit has been designed to be extra aerodynamic, which means no Lake Worth used car dealer can talk you into believing a modified Prius will lose any of its trademark fuel economy. Also included are race-inspired, 17-inch forged alloy wheels, which do a lot for the handling of the vehicle. New tires and stronger wheels keep the Prius PLUS performing at the peak of its game, again, while maintaining fuel efficiency. Wrap it all up in a tiny bow with custom floor mats, and you’ve got yourself a gorgeous and fun Prius. “Gorgeous” and “fun” might not always have been the words you’d choose to describe the vehicle, but they’re the words we’re using now. Depending on what model of Prius you get, the kit will run you between $2,999 and $3,699, but that’s a small price to make your hybrid the complete package. The PLUS package, if you will. |
